Meme Monday - What I Want for Christmas from Microsoft

This Christmas if I could get one thing from Microsoft it would be recognition that DBA's are not developers.  This means increasing their focus on bringing us the features we all need to do our jobs such as encryption, enhanced compression, and Extended Events interfaces that don't require you to be a genius (AKA @SQLPoolBoy) to understand, while maybe also decreasing their focus on CLR, .NET integration, and turning all of our management tools into Visual Studio 12.

There are SQL developers out there, developing in T-SQL and/or .NET, and most of them do a great job at what they do, and many of them are also DBA's - but all DBA's are not developers - they are two completely separate roles with separate skillsets, and I wish Microsoft would figure that out.

Oh, and an Official Red Ryder Carbine-Action Two-Hundred-Shot Range Model Air Rifle! (with a compass in the stock and this thing that tells time)
